You have just given birth and now you want to get back into the shape you were in before with some post pregnancy exercise. However, trying to lose weight after pregnancy is not an easy task. You are going to have to exercise some will power to achieve your former figure.

If you were exercising while pregnant then it will be a little easier to shed those pounds. Start a routine where you can fit in at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. It doesn't have to be the same post pregnancy exercise every day. Mix it up a little with brisk walks, swimming, playing with your other children if you have any. Yoga and pilates are great for keeping you calm and stress free both in mind and body. As a result they will help you focus on your exercises. Yoga and pilates are also great for toning and strengthening all your muscles including your tummy.

A lot of new mothers wonder how celebrity moms are able to lose weight in such a short time after pregnancy. Remember these people have a vested interest in their appearance and figure. It is how a lot of them earn their money. They can also afford to hire fitness trainers, dieticians and basically any professional help they need.

If you are not a celebrity mom and do not have the money to hire a team of professionals to help you lose weight in a healthy way then it is best to take your time and go at a slower pace and in the end you will keep off the extra weight also.

Remember to eat healthy. Having a baby means at least 300 calories more each day. As a result if you are exercising be sure to have a good diet that will provide you and your baby with all the required nutrients.

Exercise regularly. Try to get in some pregnancy exercise at least 3 times a week. A brisk walk or just some light playing with your kids in the garden can help you exercise.

You must learn to know when to quit. If you are feeling tired or exhausted then stop. Listen to your body and do not over do your exercises.
